New Delhi: Recently the Telangana government announced 42 percent reservation to OBCs in the state. Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said to ensure 42 percent reservation for OBC population in education, jobs and employment and political representation in the state. At the same time, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has praised this decision of the Telangana government. Rahul Gandhi described it as a revolutionary step on the social media platform X. Along with this, he said that the backward and disadvantaged communities can get their right right only through X-Ray i.e. caste census.
‘OBC promised to increase reservation’
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi wrote on X, “The Congress government has fulfilled the promise of increasing the OBC reservation in Telangana. The real number of OBC community found in the state scientifically in the state has been accepted and to ensure their equal participation in education, employment and politics, a bill of 42% reservation has been passed in the assembly. It is really a revolutionary step towards social justice.
‘X-Ray will get reasonable rights’
He further wrote on X, “The data of caste survey will make such policies by analyzing the social and economic conditions of every community, which will ensure the betterment of everyone. The Telangana government has also formed an independent expert group for this. I am constantly saying that the backward and disadvantaged communities can get proper rights from the X-Ray, ie the backward and disadvantaged communities can get their right. We will be done by getting it done. “
