Sitaram Yechury and Rahul Gandhi
Senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Sitaram Yechury, passed away at the age of 72. He left this world after a long illness. The death of the senior leader has caused a wave of mourning in Indian politics and many big leaders have expressed their grief over this.
Rahul Gandhi shared his photo with Sitaram Yechury and wrote, “Sitaram Yechury Ji was my friend. A protector of the idea of India and a person with a deep understanding of our country. I will miss our long discussions. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and followers in this hour of grief.”
Mamata Banerjee wrote, “Saddened to learn that Sitaram Yechury has passed away. I know him to be a seasoned parliamentarian and his demise is a loss to national politics. I offer my condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.”
Priyanka Gandhi wrote, “The demise of Sitaram Yechury is a great loss for all of us. His years of service and dedication to our country are worthy of the utmost respect.
