New Delhi: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has visited New Delhi railway station. He visited the station to see how the crowd is being managed.
The statement revealed
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said, ‘Several steps have been taken for access control and crowd control at New Delhi railway station. If the passengers have reserved tickets, then they will go directly inside the station. Those who do not have tickets will first go to the holding area. Arrangements have been made to take them directly to the holding area. All counters of unreserved tickets have been removed from the first floor and counters have been created in the holding area so that only the ticket purchases can enter the station. This analysis is being done in the war room of Northern Railway.
There was a stampede at New Delhi railway station
There was a stampede at New Delhi railway station due to crowds in the past. 18 people died in this stampede. There was a lot of uproar after the incident came to light and all the politicians and officials reached the spot.
This incident took place on the night of 15 February. There was an atmosphere of chaos on platform number 13 and 14 of New Delhi railway station.
The accident took place around 9.30 pm. The Railways had announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased, Rs 2.5 lakh to the seriously injured passengers and Rs 1 lakh each to the marginally injured passengers.
PM Modi also mourned the incident. Posting on the social media platform X, PM Modi wrote, ‘The stampede at New Delhi railway station has hurt. My sympathy is with those who lost their loved ones. Wish the injured to recover soon. The administration is detecting those affected by the stampede.
