The process of changing the names of places in Uttar Pradesh has not stopped yet and this time the names of railway stations have been changed, not of cities. The Railway Ministry has released a new list of old and new names. The name board installed at the railway station has also been changed. If you are also a railway passenger and travel on the Lucknow route, then keep in mind the names of these railway stations and their new names.
Northern Railway has issued an order to change the names of eight railway stations in Uttar Pradesh on August 27. The decision will be applicable to stations under Lucknow division and has been approved by the concerned authority.
New names and old names:
Kasimpur halt will now be known as Jais City. Jais has been renamed as Guru Gorakhnath Dham. Misrauli has been renamed as Maa Kalikan Dham. Bani has been renamed as Swami Paramhans. Nihalgarh will now be known as Maharaja Bijli Pasi. Akbarganj will be renamed as Maa Ahorva Bhawani Dham. Wazirganj halt has been renamed as Amar Shaheed Bhale Sultan. Fursatganj has been renamed as Tapeshwarnath Dham.
According to this order, despite changing the names of these stations, there will be no change in their numerical codes.
Political reaction: After this decision, Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav slammed the BJP government and said that the government should also work on improving the condition of railway stations instead of focusing only on changing names.
