The total cost of these projects is around Rs 7927 crore and they have been approved for the states of Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. These projects will expand the existing network of Railways by 639 kilometers, which will make connectivity more convenient in the times to come.

According to the government, these projects will result in additional trains being run on the Mumbai-Prayagraj-Varanasi route. This will make it easier for devotees to reach religious places like Jyotirlinga, Omkareshwar of Khandwa and Kashi Vishwanath of Varanasi. Traveling to Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Gaya and Shirdi will also become more easy.

The new railway lines will also play an important role in boosting tourist inflow to major tourist destinations like Khajuraho, Ajanta-Ellora Caves, Devagiri and Asirgarh Forts, Rewa Fort, Yawal Wildlife Sanctuary, Kyoti and Purva Falls.

Best distribution of agricultural products, fertilizers, coal, steel, cement and containers will be possible on these routes. Since railways is an environment friendly means, it will not only reduce the logistics cost but will also be helpful in achieving environmental goals.
