New Delhi. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of moderate to heavy rain in many states including the capital Delhi. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain for Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal and it is likely to deepen. Due to this, very heavy rains may occur in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, areas adjoining the Ganges of West Bengal, many districts of Odisha till Tuesday. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has also predicted strong winds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour in all these places. Heavy rains can also be seen in South Bengal. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has advised fishermen in coastal areas not to go into the sea.
According to the weather department’s forecast, heavy rains may occur in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha of Maharashtra, eastern parts of Rajasthan by Monday. There are chances of rain in Himalayan states, West Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch of Gujarat. A yellow alert for rain has been issued in Shimla, Mandi, Kullu, Sirmour and Solan of Himachal Pradesh. Moderate rains may also occur in some states of the Northeast including Assam, Marathwada, coastal areas of Karnataka, Kerala etc.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that the low pressure area of the Bay of Bengal may deepen and move towards the west-northwest. Due to this, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in many districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. There is an orange alert for heavy rains in 10 districts of Andhra Pradesh till Monday. The Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy rains in many other states of the country such as Rajasthan, Gujarat etc. The Meteorological Department has also predicted rains in Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur and Kota. Overall, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rains across the country in the next few days.
