47 roads closed due to rain in Himachal
47 roads were closed on Saturday following incessant rains in Himachal Pradesh. The local meteorological department has warned of flood risk in Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts. The State Emergency Operations Centre said 18 power and one water supply scheme were also affected in the state.
Record rain occurred in these areas of Himachal
The highest rainfall of 64 mm was recorded in Malroan of Himachal. After this, Mandi received 41.7 mm, Pandoh 32.5 mm, Barthin 30.4 mm, Aghar 29.8 mm, Bhatiyat 28.4 mm, Jubbarhatti received 26 mm of rain.
There is a danger of flood in these three districts including Shimla
Along with this, the local meteorological department said that Bhuntar received 25.7 mm of rain, Sundarnagar 19.6 mm, Dhaula Kuan 14 mm, Paonta Sahib 13.4 mm, Manali 12 mm, Kufri 11.6 mm and Sarahan 11 mm of rain. The local meteorological department has warned of the danger of light to moderate floods in parts of Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts till Sunday.
47 roads were closed due to heavy rain
Due to heavy rains, a total of 47 roads are closed for traffic, including 13 in Mandi, 11 in Kangra, 9 each in Shimla and Kullu, two in Una and one each in Kinnaur, Sirmaur and Lahaul and Spiti districts. Himachal Pradesh is rain deficient by 21 per cent since the onset of monsoon in the state on June 27, while the state received 517.8 mm of rain against the average of 652.1 mm.
158 people died this monsoon season
A total of 158 people have died in rain-related incidents during the ongoing monsoon season from June 27 to September 7, while 30 people are still missing. Officials said the state has suffered losses worth Rs 1,304 crore.
