There has been a new twist in the murder case in Meghalaya during the honeymoon of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi. His brother Vipin Raghuvanshi has claimed on the basis of a leaked call recording that Sonam Raghuvanshi betrayed her husband and his entire family is involved in the murder. Vipin has demanded the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the case.
Meghalaya Police has accused Sonam Raghuvanshi of plotting to kill her husband. Police say Sonam along with her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha carried out the murder. This conspiracy started before their marriage. Raja and Sonam were married on 11 May 2025, and went missing during a honeymoon in Meghalaya on 23 May. On June 2, the king’s body was found in a deep ditch near the Wai Sodong Waterfall. Sonam met on 9 June at a dhaba in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, where she surrendered.
Vipin said that the leaked call recording shows that Sonam’s family was also involved in this conspiracy. He questioned the investigation of the Meghalaya Police, as many accused got bail quickly. Vipin claims that the police did not investigate the correct investigation, and the CBI investigation will reveal the whole truth. Sonam’s brother Govind had earlier claimed that he was with the king’s family and would appoint a lawyer to punish Sonam. However, Vipin now also questioned Govind, saying that he was supporting Sonam.
Meghalaya Police has arrested Sonam, Raj Kushwaha and three other accused – Vishal Singh Chauhan, Akash Rajput and Anand Kurmi. Police say this murder was done by Raj Kushwaha with the help of his friends and relatives, who joined not for money, but at his behest. Sonam’s father Devi Singh described her daughter as innocent and accused the Meghalaya police of lying.
Vipin has also demanded the narco test so that the whole truth of Sonam and Raj Kushwaha’s conspiracy came out. The matter is under discussion across the country, and the next step of the investigation will decide the result.
