11 days after the election results came, the new Chief Minister of Delhi was finally announced. Rekha Gupta was sworn in as the new Chief Minister at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all the big leaders of BJP, Chief Minister of states and NDA leaders were also present at the ceremony. Six other ministers were sworn in along with Rekha Gupta: Pravesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravindra Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Kumar Singh.
Later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated all the new ministers in a post on social media and said that there is a combination of energy and experience in the new team and he is confident that this team will give good governance to Delhi. The oath ceremony was held, but there is a question in everyone’s mind that why was it so late in the announcement of Rekha Gupta’s name? Why was so much secretary taken? Why were the phones of all the leaders who reached the legislative party meeting before the announcement of the name were stopped? Why did the party hand over the command of Delhi to Rekha Gupta coming from Vaishya Samaj?
By making Rekha Gupta the Chief Minister, Narendra Modi has thanked the women of Delhi for their support and trust. Now Rekha Gupta’s first task will be to get women a assistance of Rs 2500 every month. If the BJP has to express his gratitude to the people of Delhi in the true sense, then its best way is to work at superfast speed. Implementation of Mahila Samman Yojana, giving LPG cylinder for Rs 500 and implementing Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
This is not a difficult task. For these, orders are to be issued only to issue orders, but the biggest challenge before the Chief Minister of Delhi is air pollution in Delhi, the decaying roads of Delhi, clean drinking water for the people of Delhi and cleaning of Yamuna river. If these works are done rapidly, the people of Delhi will feel that they made no mistake by giving BJP an opportunity to serve after 27 years. (Rajat Sharma)
