Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar was sworn in as the 23rd Governor of Kerala at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan on Thursday. Chief Justice of Kerala High Court Justice Nitin Jamdar administered the oath to him at 10.30 am.
Arlekar wrote on the I will work with full commitment to give new dimensions to the development and prosperity of India.”

He replaced Arif Mohammad Khan, who was appointed the Governor of Bihar.
It is noteworthy that Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his cabinet colleagues, senior leaders of various political parties were present in the swearing-in ceremony.
Arlekar arrived in the Kerala capital on Wednesday and was welcomed at the international airport by Chief Minister Vijayan, Kerala Assembly Speaker A N Shamsheer and ministers K Rajan and Ramachandran Kadannapalli.
Last week, President of India Draupadi Murmu appointed Khan as the new Governor of Bihar and made outgoing Governor Arlekar the Governor of Kerala.
