New Delhi. During an election rally held in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh made an important statement about Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK). He said that the people of POK are part of India and they should join India. Rajnath Singh made it clear that India considers the residents of POK as citizens of its country and called upon them to join India.
Clear stand on restoration of Article 370
Rajnath Singh targeted the alliance of Congress and NC (National Conference) in the rally and said that this alliance is talking about the restoration of Article 370, but as long as BJP is in power, no one can restore Article 370. He said that after the removal of Article 370, the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has changed. Now the youth here are using laptops and computers instead of weapons, which is a sign of development and peace.
The world’s eyes are on the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir
The Defence Minister said that assembly elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir after ten years, and not only India but the whole world is watching these elections. He said that in this election, refugees from Pakistan, Valmiki community and families of sanitation workers have got the right to vote for the first time, thereby fulfilling their long-standing demand for rights.
SC-ST communities got rights
Rajnath Singh praised the steps taken to give the benefit of Scheduled Caste (SC) category to the Valmiki community and to reserve seats in the assembly for the ST community. He said that the changes taking place in the Kashmir Valley are being seen not only by India but the whole world. Last year, a meeting of the G-20 Summit was successfully organized in Srinagar, which brought the changing picture of Jammu and Kashmir before the world.
Jammu and Kashmir becomes a tourism hotspot
Rajnath Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir which was earlier known for terrorism has become a tourist hotspot today. He also stressed that after three and a half decades, Tazia procession has been taken out in Srinagar, which is a symbol of peace and harmony. He said that now the distance from Jammu to Srinagar can be covered in just four and a half hours, which will promote development and tourism.

Sarcastic remark on Pakistan’s stand on POK
Rajnath Singh targeted the Pakistani government and said that Pakistan considers POK as foreign land. Pakistan’s ASG (Assistant Solicitor General) himself has accepted this in an affidavit, whereas India has always considered the people of POK as its own.
BJP’s manifesto: Free cylinders for Ujjwala beneficiaries, laptops for students
Referring to the BJP’s Sankalp Patra, Rajnath Singh said that under the Ujjwala scheme in Jammu and Kashmir, every beneficiary will be given two free gas cylinders in a year. Also, tablets or laptops will be given to students of higher secondary classes in remote areas, so that their education can be improved. He said that the BJP has resolved that both the cities of Jammu and Srinagar will be connected by metro rail and a great river front will be built on the Tawi river. Apart from this, some areas of Ramban and Banihal will be developed as tourist destinations.
