United Kisan Morcha leader Rakesh Tikait met farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal on Friday. This meeting of both took place at Khanauri border. The government should take cognizance of this matter. He said it was unlikely that Dallewal would withdraw his fast unto death unless the government talks to him and fulfills his demands. When Rakesh Tikait was asked whether all organizations should not join hands to effectively fight the fight for farmers’ rights? In response to this, Rakesh Tikait said that we have formed a committee which will communicate with the groups.

He further said that a strategy will be prepared for future action. Tikait said that the Center will have to show the strength of the farmers and for this they will have to surround the national capital with KMP and not on the borders like the previous movement in Delhi. He said that when Delhi will be surrounded, it will be from KMP. We will see when and how this happens. In response to another question, Rakesh Tikait said that the Centre’s policy is that farmer organizations should be divided according to its agenda. Rakesh Tikait, while answering further questions, said that farmer organizations should unite and make a strategy regarding the next step. Answering a further question, he said that Dallewal’s health condition is serious. He said that since starting the fast unto death, his weight has reduced by 14 kg.
