At least five employees were scorched in the accident at Bokaro Steel Plant of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). An official gave this information on Tuesday.The incident occurred in the ‘Steel Melting Shop-2’ (SMS-2) of the Bokaro Steel Plant where a hot metal leak occurred.
The officer told ‘PTI-language’, “The water sprayed to cool down the substance under the normal process resulting in large quantities of steam. All five employees came in contact with steam and scorched. He was rushed to a government hospital in Bokaro where he was treated. ”
According to sources, the injured laborer is an employee of Sandeep Enterprises, who was employed in SMS-2. Soon after the accident, everyone was rushed to the hospital hospital, but after first aid, they were referred to Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) in view of the critical condition.
Scorched laborers have been identified as Samar Kumar, Chhotalal Majhi, Ruplal Gorai, Nandkishore and Anand Mandal. All are currently undergoing treatment in BGH.
After this accident, there was chaos in SMS-2. The workers expressed displeasure over the negligence of security arrangements and also created a ruckus. He says that such incidents are happening continuously, but concrete steps are not being taken by the BSL management.
On receiving the information of the incident, senior BSL officials reached the spot and took stock of the situation. He has instructed the doctors of the hospital for better treatment.
