According to the police, a procession for the installation of Ganesh idol was going on in Mochipura. During that time, stone pelting took place. Immediately after this incident, people from Hindu organizations gathered at the police station. Police had to fire tear gas shells to disperse the crowd at Chhatripur and Dobatti crossings of Ratlam. Before this, many bikes were vandalized by the crowd. Police vehicles are also reported to be damaged. The accused of stone pelting was caught by the police. After which the situation came under control. The Mochipura area where the incident took place is minority dominated. After the incident in Mochipura, there is news of deployment of police in large numbers in many police station areas of Ratlam.

According to Hindu organizations, many people have been injured due to stone pelting. Every year on the occasion of Ganesh festival, incidents of stone pelting have been reported from many areas of the country. Police always take strict action against such elements who spoil the atmosphere. Despite this, some anti-social elements keep challenging the peace. The latest incident in Ratlam is also an example of this. Talking about Madhya Pradesh, the BJP government here has always taken strict action against anti-social elements. In Ratlam too, the police took swift action and saved the atmosphere from deteriorating.
