BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari called this statement a PR stunt by Arvind Kejriwal. He said, “This is an attempt by Kejriwal to improve his image as his image is now not of an honest leader among the people but of a corrupt leader. Today Aam Aadmi Party is known as a corrupt party across the country. Kejriwal is trying to adopt the Sonia Gandhi model, in which he himself will try to run the government from behind. He has understood that the people of Delhi will no longer vote in his name, so he wants to make someone else a scapegoat.”

Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha said on this matter, “The Chief Minister is ready to undergo the Agni Pariksha (trial by fire). Now it is in the hands of the people of Delhi to decide whether the Chief Minister is honest or not. Arvind Kejriwal had sought votes in the name of his work in 2020 and said that if I have worked then vote for me, if not then don’t vote for me. In the upcoming 2025 Delhi elections too, the public will decide whether the Chief Minister is honest or not.” Delhi minister Kailash Gehlot also supported the chief minister’s resignation announcement and said, “We agree with the chief minister. Arvind Kejriwal has earned the love, respect and blessings of the people. He has left it to the people of Delhi to decide whether the chief minister and the party are honest or not. There is no talk of dissolving the assembly as of now.”

Congress also reacted…
Meanwhile, Congress leader Sandeep Dixit called Kejriwal’s announcement a mere sham. He said, “We have been saying from the beginning that he should resign from the post of Chief Minister. This is just a drama. This is the first time that an elected leader has come out of jail on bail and the Supreme Court has put a condition on him not to go to the CMO and not to sign any document. Such conditions have never been imposed on any Chief Minister before. The Supreme Court also probably fears that this person may tamper with evidence. Arvind Kejriwal and morality do not match.”
