Rekha Gupta has to take important decisions in the first cabinet meeting along with taking over as CM. The BJP made several promises during the Delhi assembly elections. The BJP had said that free electricity and water facilities will continue in Delhi. Promises of cleaning Yamuna, giving 2500 rupees to poor women every month, LPG cylinders to poor families for 500 rupees, ending garbage mountains in Delhi, starting pension of elderly, fixing roads and streets and supply of clean drinking water BJP did it. Obviously, there is a list of a lot of work for Rekha Gupta’s government from day one.
The BJP won the Delhi assembly elections and beat Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party, who has been in power for 10 consecutive years. BJP has won 48 seats in the Delhi assembly elections. Whereas, the Aam Aadmi Party got only 22 seats. The Congress could not get any seat in the Delhi Assembly elections for the third consecutive time. The stand of the Congress was seen to exclude the Aam Aadmi Party government of Arvind Kejriwal. Now the people of Delhi have expressed confidence in BJP. In such a situation, the next 5 years are very important for the party. The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has already started cleaning the Yamuna. He has said that this work will take 3 years.
