India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday agreed to intensify defense relations, including co-development of military equipment. Please tell that Shahzade Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktum of Dubai has come on a visit to India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh held talks with Shahzade, focusing on cooperation in strategic areas between the two countries.
Did PM Modi say?
Regarding talks between India and UAE, PM Modi said, “Shahzade Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktum of Dubai was happy. Dubai has played an important role in furthering the India-UAE broader strategic partnership. This special journey confirms our deep friendship and paves the way for even more strong cooperation in the future. ”Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, gave information about this meeting, saying that PM Modi and Al Maktum have discussed the important role of Dubai in strengthening India-UAE relations in the fields of defense, trade, technology, space and connectivity.
Strategic Partnership Priority for India- Defense Minister
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has also described his meeting with Al Maktoom as ‘meaningful’. Rajnath Singh said- “In New Delhi, a meaningful meeting was held in Dubai’s Shahzade, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoom. A comprehensive strategic partnership with the UAE is a priority for India. In the coming years, we are eager to work together in areas such as defense cooperation, co-production and co-development projects, innovation and technology. Al Maktum has agreed that India’s PM Narendra Modi and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan need to increase defense cooperation according to the vision and determination.
Foreign Minister met Shahzade of Dubai
India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has also met Shahzade of Dubai. External Affairs Minister Jaishankar wrote- “I am happy to welcome Dubai’s Shahzade and UAE Defense Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktum during India’s first official visit.” I appreciate their positive thoughts for our widespread cooperation and lively relationships. ”(Input: language)
