New Delhi. BJP MP Flute Swaraj has been relieved of the court in a defamation case. The court has refused to hear in the criminal defamation case filed by Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi minister Satyendra Jain. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Neha Mittal has also rejected the criminal defamation case registered against flute Swaraj. The judge said that there is no reason to take cognizance of the matter registered against the BJP MP, due to which it is rejected.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendra Jain had accused flute Swaraj that he had made unrestrained allegations against him during an interview to a news channel. He was insulted by the allegations made by the BJP MP, due to which he filed a criminal defamation case. According to the AAP leader, Flute Swaraj had said during his interview that when ED arrived at Satyendra Jain’s house for searching, the investigating agency had recovered Rs 3 crore cash and 1.8 kg of gold and 133 gold coins from his premises. Jain also claimed that the BJP MP insulted him as a corrupt and cheater. He said that flute Swaraj made such derogatory allegations to shine his politics.
Earlier on 16 December 2024, the court, while hearing the petition of Satyendar Jain, had issued a notice to BJP MP Flute Swaraj and the news channel in which he had given an interview and sought a reply. On 13 January 2025, in the case, the lawyer of BJP MP Flute Swaraj in the case had said in the court that this complaint made by the AAP leader against his client is motivated by politics. Satyendra Jain is doing politics in this matter. The lawyer defended the flute and argued that he had given a statement based on the information available on the Internet, social media and court comments.
