The government issued notice to e-commerce companies.
New Delhi: The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has issued notices to various e-commerce companies, including Amazon India and Walmart-owned Flipkart, and directed them to remove Pakistani flag products from their platform. Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi gave this information on Wednesday.
‘Sales of Pakistani flags will not be tolerated’
CCPA also sent notice to Youboy India, ETSI, The Flag Company and The Flag Corporation, saying that the sale of Pakistani flags and related goods would not be tolerated. Joshi said in a social media post, “Such insensitivity will not be tolerated. E-commerce forums are instructed to immediately remove all such materials and follow national laws.” However, it was not clarified in the minister’s post which law is being violated by selling this goods.
According to reports, Pakistan’s flags and items related to these websites were being sold, on which the national signs of Pakistan were remained. This action took place at a time when there was a military struggle between India and Pakistan after the killing of 26 people by terrorists in Pahalgam, Kashmir. India ran ‘Operation Sindoor’ and targeted several terrorist bases in Pakistan and its occupied Kashmir. On May 10, it was agreed to stop military action between the two countries. The Government of India says that after contacting the Director General of Military Operations of Pakistan (DGMO), it was agreed to stop military action.

Earlier on Tuesday, CAIT, a large organization of traders, wrote a letter to Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of Consumer Affairs Prahlad Joshi demanding that online sale of things with national symbols of Pakistan be banned.
