New Delhi. Efforts are on to save laborers buried in snow after avalanche in Mana near Badrinath Dham in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. So far 50 laborers have been evacuated from snow, out of which 4 have died. While 5 other workers are still stranded and they are being searched. The weather is very bad at the scene, due to which there is a problem in the rescue operation. The risk of avalanche still remains. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall in the state within the next 24 hours. At the same time, the Chief Minister of the state Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Joshimath and met the workers who were rescued.

Describing the rescue operation as challenging, the Chief Minister said that electricity contact has been cut in the surrounding areas but there are works to restore it as soon as possible. More than 200 people are contributing to the rescue operations. It includes army, ITBP personnel, NDRF, BRO and disaster management people, all people are trying to save the laborers. CM said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the rescue operation this morning. He has assured all the necessary help. All the people working on high altitude areas across the state have been kept on alert.

NDRF Commanding Officer Sudesh Kumar says that one of our teams has already reached the spot. Apart from this, we are also taking help of our investigative dogs. We are also coordinating with the army and ITBP personnel. There are many challenges, the heli-operation has also been suspended due to bad weather. At the same time, ITBP Commandant Vijay Kumar said, I hope that they will be rescued by all the workers by this evening. Hopefully they will be safe and healthy.
