New Delhi. The Supreme Court has refused to transfer the case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College out of West Bengal. An application was filed by a lawyer to transfer this case out of West Bengal. The petitioner argued that the people of West Bengal are losing confidence in the state police and the judiciary. For this, the petitioner had also cited the case of Manipur which was transferred by the Supreme Court. Rejecting the petition, a bench of Chief Justice (CJI) DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra said that yes, we have transferred the trial in the Manipur violence case out of the state but there is nothing like that here.

With this, the Supreme Court bench rejected the petitioner’s request. At the same time, the National Task Force constituted to make a protocol on the safety of health professionals submitted its report in the Supreme Court today. The Supreme Court has asked to share the report of the National Task Force with all the states and union territories so that they can give their inputs. The top court has given three weeks’ time for this. CJI Chandrachud said, everyone involved in the council can also give suggestions on ways to improve the report and strengthen the recommendations. Tell us what kind of monitoring system can be created.
Along with this, the Supreme Court also saw the investigation report of the CBI investigation related to the case so far. The court has asked CBI to file a new report after four weeks. The Supreme Court said that since the investigation of this case is going on, we do not want to comment on this report right now, the next hearing of the case will be on November 11.
