The CM said, I request all of you as an elder sister to withdraw your protest and return to work. Let us tell you that during the hearing of the case related to the RG Kar murder case on September 9, West Bengal government lawyer Kapil Sibal had told the Supreme Court that 23 people had died due to lack of treatment due to the doctor’s strike. After this, the Supreme Court had called upon the doctors to return to work. The apex court had asked the doctors to return to work by 5 pm on September 10.
The court had assured the doctors that no adverse action would be taken against them. Despite this, the doctors continued the strike. Two days ago, Mamata Banerjee had called a 15-member team of junior doctors to the secretariat for talks but the doctors did not turn up for the talks. After waiting for the doctors for about two hours, Mamata Banerjee said that I apologize to the people of Bengal with folded hands that we could not bring the doctors back to work. I am ready to resign. I do not have greed for power.
