New Delhi. Junior doctors of RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata took out a protest march today from College Square to Rabindra Sadan. Junior doctors have again stopped work and gone on strike demanding justice in the case of rape and murder of a fellow doctor in RG Kar Medical College. Junior doctors say that no work is being done in the direction of whatever assurances Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had given them during the talks, hence we have decided to go on an indefinite strike again.

At the same time, on the protest of junior doctors against the RG tax case, Union Minister and BJP leader Sukant Majumdar said, the demands of junior doctors are completely justified and they should be fulfilled. We support their demands, but the Trinamool Congress government of West Bengal and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee are not able to fulfill their demands, which is the failure of this government. The entire West Bengal is running on ‘threat culture’. The way Trinamool Congress MLA Humayun Kabin has threatened junior doctors, it shows that doctors are not safe in Mamata Banerjee’s government.

The Union Minister said, only the doctors will decide how they will conduct their protest, but we believe that their demands should be met. It is noteworthy that two days ago, Bharatpur MLA of Murshidabad district, Humayun Kabir, while talking about gheraoing the junior doctors of Murshidabad Medical College, had said that the junior doctors are protesting in AC rooms while the public is getting harassed on the streets. The TMC MLA had said that I have come to know that an FIR has been registered against the maker for my earlier comments. If I am sent to jail for this statement of mine, then as soon as I come out, I will surround the junior doctors with 10 thousand people.
