Air India flight number A-114, coming from Birmingham to New Delhi, received a bomb threat on Saturday, after which it was diverted to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, where it was safely taken off.
The airline spokesman said that the aircraft was closely inspected and all investigations have been completed.
An Air India spokesman said, “On June 21, flight number A114 from Birmingham to Delhi was threatened with a bomb, after which it was diverted to Riyadh, where it was safely landed and security check was completed.”
Earlier, the flight of Air India Express from Delhi to Patna was diverted to Varanasi due to bad weather.
The airline spokesperson said that on 21 June 2025, flight iX1014 of Air India Express from Delhi (DEL) to Patna (PAT) was diverted to Varanasi (VNS).
The spokesperson said, “One of our flights to Patna was diverted to Varanasi for some time due to adverse weather. When the weather improved, the flight flew and landed in Patna. We express regret for the delay due to the circumstances beyond our control.”
On Friday, Air India canceled several international and domestic flights due to rising investigation of aircraft, bad weather and airspace sanctions. The affected flights include flights between Dubai, Chennai, Delhi, Melbourne, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
According to an Air India statement, “Air India’s international flights from Dubai to Chennai A. 1906; A1308 from Delhi to Melbourne; A1309 from Melbourne to Delhi; A12204 from Dubai to Hyderabad to Hyderabad and Domestic flights A1224; A1224; Ah224; Ah224; A12206; A12206; Hyderabad to Mumbai to Mumbai to Mumbai to Mumbai to Mumbai to Mumbai Maintenance and operational reasons have been canceled.
The airline has offered complete refunds or free resade to passengers and is helping passengers with alternative travel plans.
The airline said, “We are sorry for the inconvenience to passengers. The colleagues on our ground are making alternative arrangements for them to fly to their destinations as soon as possible. It has been offered to give full refunds to passengers on cancers canceled or give full refunds on the recitation.”
