New Delhi. Rashtriya Janata Dal has written a letter to Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav demanding cancellation of membership of its four MLAs. RJD alleges that Mokama MLA Neelam Devi, Suryagarha MLA Prahlad Yadav, Shivhar MLA Chetan Anand and Mohania MLA Sangeeta Kumari have violated the anti-defection law. RJD Chief Whip Akhtarul Islam Shaheen has issued a memorandum in this regard.
case of defection
These four MLAs had supported Nitish Kumar after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar broke ties with RJD-Congress last year and joined NDA. He had decided to sit on the ruling side.

what was said in the letter
In the letter written by RJD on January 8, it has been said that these MLAs have voluntarily left the party. Sangeeta Kumari has accepted the post of spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party. The party has demanded from the Speaker that the membership of these MLAs should be canceled under the anti-defection law.
opposition to grand alliance
A delegation of Grand Alliance leaders including RJD met the Speaker and demanded action against these MLAs. RJD MLA Bhai Virendra said that this is a blatant violation of the Constitution. He warned that if action was not taken by the next assembly session, there would be uproar in the House.
Election preparation
It is noteworthy that assembly elections are going to be held in Bihar this year. In such a situation, this matter can become a cause of political heat. If the membership of these MLAs is cancelled, there may be a possibility of by-elections.
