At the Alambagh bus stand in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, a taxi driver carried out the robbery with a passenger who returned from Saudi Arabia. Alamgir Ahmed, who returned from Saudi, reached Lucknow Airport on June 12 at 7:40 am. He booked a taxi number number UP 32 QN 9775 to go to Alambagh bus stand.
After reaching the bus stand, when Alamgir Ahmed started removing his belongings from the taxi, the taxi driver snatched a small bag. Ahmed said that his bag had Rs 11,500 cash, passport, Aadhaar card, driving license of Saudi Arabia and two mobile phones. The victim chased the taxi, but the driver escaped from the spot with a bag.
In a hurry, Alamgir lodged a complaint at Alambagh police station. According to the information given by Kotwali in -charge Subhash Chandra Saroj, the police have registered a case after a week of investigation. The police is now searching for the accused taxi driver based on the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the bus stand.
