New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has also expressed grief over the demise of former Prime Minister of the country Manmohan Singh. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and its general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale condoled the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, saying his contribution to India will always be remembered. They said in a joint statement, “The entire nation is deeply saddened by the demise of former Prime Minister and senior leader of the country, Dr. Manmohan Singh. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh expresses its deepest condolences to his family and loved ones and his countless fans.
The statement said that Singh came from an ordinary background, yet he graced the highest post of the country. He said in the statement, “The contribution of renowned economist Dr. Singh to India will always be remembered. We pray to God to grant salvation to the departed soul.
Manmohan Singh, the father of economic reforms in India, died on Thursday night at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. He was 92 years old. Congress leader Singh was the country’s Prime Minister for 10 years from 2004 to 2014 and before that he helped strengthen the country’s economic structure as the Finance Minister. He was a well-known name in the global financial and economic sectors.
PM Modi called it a big loss to the nation
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as a big loss for the nation. He said that despite coming from an ordinary background, he reached some of the most important positions in the country. Praising him as a distinguished parliamentarian, PM Modi said Singh’s life is a reflection of his honesty and simplicity. Emphasizing Singh’s commitment towards reforms, the Prime Minister said that his contribution to the country’s development will always be remembered.
He said that the life of Manmohan Singh will always serve as a lesson for future generations as to how one can rise above privations and struggles to achieve the heights of success. Manmahon Singh was the Finance Minister and Prime Minister of the country twice.
