New Delhi. The controversy regarding EVMs still continues in Maharashtra. MLAs of Uddhav Thackeray’s party Shiv Sena (UBT) did not take oath in the House today. Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray said that today we have decided that our winning MLAs will not take oath. If it was a public mandate then people would have been happy and celebrated, but this victory was not celebrated anywhere, we have doubts on EVMs. This mandate has been given by EVMs and the Election Commission, and not by the people of Maharashtra.

On the walkout of Shiv Sena UBT MLAs from the special session of Maharashtra Assembly, MLA Aditya Thackeray said, today we have decided not to take oath out of respect for the public. Democracy is being murdered. The results that have come are not a mandate. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MLC Sachin Ahir said, “Raees Sheikh ji may be saying that there was no tampering in the EVMs, but people are questioning how this mandate can happen. We are not saying that there has been any tampering, but the suspicion that has been created in the minds of people is genuine. When so many votes have been given to our party, how can this mandate be given?

On the other hand, Manisha Kayande, leader of Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena party, said on the allegations made by the opposition on EVMs, these are very childish actions on their part. He continues to express disbelief on EVMs. They distrust everything. The opposition does not trust any government institution. When he won in Lok Sabha, EVMs were fine, then he did not raise questions, but whenever opposition parties lose elections, they always start doubting EVMs.
