Mumbai and Thane police teams had arrested Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad from the metro construction site near Hiranandani Estate in Thane at 2 am on Saturday night in connection with the murderous attack on Saif Ali Khan. He was sleeping in the bushes near the labor colony. According to Mumbai Police, the phone of accused Mohammad Shariful was active in Dadar, Bandra and Saif’s house. Through that, he reached Thane while searching and arrested the accused from there. It has been revealed about the accused of attacking Saif Ali Khan that he used to work as a cleaner in a pub in Thane. Mumbai Police did not find any Aadhar card or identity document from him. After which suspicion was being raised that Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad is a citizen of Bangladesh.

When Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad was arrested, he told the police his name was BJ, Vijay etc. In such a situation, the police believe that Shariful was trying to deceive the law. Saif Ali Khan was attacked at around 2.30 am on 16 January. It is alleged that Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times with a knife. There was a knife on his back, neck and hand. A part of the knife was broken near Saif Ali Khan’s spine. Which the doctors removed by surgery.
