Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that the state has the highest number of employees in proportion to the population as compared to any other state. A large part of the provisions made in our budget, about 39-40 percent i.e. Rs 2000 crore every month is due to government employees and pensioners. In such a situation, the government has very few resources.

Thakur said that the way the Chief Minister is constantly increasing the prices of diesel, cement, ration, bus fares and taxes on taxis, I think the burden of this will fall on the poor people, which should not happen. The government needs to take steps to stop wasteful expenditure to increase revenue.
