Divisional Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh had said while talking to the media on Sunday that the police did not open direct fire on the crowd. The police had used aerial firing and pellet guns. In such a situation, postmortem will reveal how the deceased were shot. In Sambhal there is Jama Masjid of the era of Mughal emperor Babar. The survey of Jama Masjid was being conducted on the orders of the court. Meanwhile on Sunday, a crowd gathered and tried to enter inside. When the police stopped the crowd, stone pelting and arson was done. The administration has said that after watching the video and CCTV footage, those who are guilty will be arrested and given strict punishment. According to the news of Hindi newspaper Amar Ujala, a rumor was spread in Sambhal that excavations were being done during the survey in Jama Masjid. After which a crowd gathered and committed violence.

Regarding the Jama Masjid of Sambhal, the Hindu side claims that there was a Shri Harihar temple here. Which was demolished during the reign of Babar and Jama Masjid was built. The Hindu side had filed an application in this regard in the local court. On which the court had ordered to survey Jama Masjid. The survey of Jama Masjid has been completed and the court commissioner will submit his report in the court on November 29. On the other hand, politics has also heated up regarding the survey of Jama Masjid of Sambhal and the violence on Sunday.
