Today, about 15 days after the Sambhal violence, the survey report of the Advocate Commissioner can be submitted in the Sambhal Trial Court. Let us tell you that the 10 days time given by the Sambhal Trial Court is ending today i.e. on Monday. In such a situation, the survey report of the Advocate Commissioner can be submitted on the Royal Mosque of Sambhal today or the Advocate Commissioner can ask for a few more days from the court.

Advocate Commissioner said this

Giving information about this, Advocate Commissioner Ramesh Raghav said on Sunday, “The court had given 10 days time to complete the survey report. This time limit will end on Monday.” Giving further update, Raghav said, “The report is still in the final stages. Some analyzes are pending. If it is completed, the report will be presented in the court on Monday. Otherwise, we will seek more time from the court.”

Supreme Court has given this order

However, following the death of four people in the violence in Sambhal on 24 November, on 29 November the Supreme Court had ordered the Sambhal trial court not to pass any order related to the survey of the Mughal-era royal Jama Masjid, and the Uttar Pradesh government Was directed to maintain peace and harmony in the violence affected city. The Supreme Court had also ordered that the survey report be kept sealed until the Allahabad High Court hears the petition of the Mosque Committee.

Know what happened

Let us inform that after the petition of Supreme Court lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain, the Court of Civil Judges (Senior Division) on November 19 appointed Ramesh Raghav as Advocate Commissioner to conduct the survey of the Shahi Mosque. Then the Advocate Commissioner conducted a preliminary survey of the mosque on the evening of 19 November in the presence of District Magistrate Rajendra Pensia and District Police Chief KK Bishnoi.

Violence occurred during the second survey

Then the second phase of the survey began on 24 November, leading to protests and violence in which 4 people lost their lives. Then in the next hearing on November 29, the court gave 10 days time to complete the report.

The government had formed a commission to investigate the violence.

At the same time, on 28 November, the Uttar Pradesh government announced the formation of a three-member judicial inquiry commission to investigate the violence of 24 November in Sambhal. The Commission has been directed to complete its investigation within two months from the date of notification. To extend this deadline, approval will have to be taken from the government. In a notification issued on November 28, Governor Anandiben Patel stressed the need for a “thorough investigation in the public interest and to ensure transparency”. The inquiry commission is headed by retired judge of Allahabad High Court, Justice Devendra Kumar Arora. The other members are retired IAS officer Amit Mohan Prasad and retired IPS officer Arvind Kumar Jain, the notification said.

What was said in the petition?

Vishnu Shankar Jain’s petition claimed that the Shahi Masjid is a Hindu temple – Hari Har Mandir, dedicated to Lord Kalki. Jain has made six parties in the case, which include the Government of India through the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Government of India through the Ministry of Culture, the Director of ASI, the ASI Superintendent of Meerut Division, the District Magistrate of Sambhal and the Management Committee of Jama Masjid, Sambhal. Are.

An important religious and historical site for the Muslim community, the Shahi Masjid is believed to have been built by the Mughal general Mir Hindu Beg around the 16th century. It is located in Mohalla Kot Purvi in ​​the heart of the city. Please note that the Shahi Masjid is a protected monument which was notified on 22 December 1920 under Section 3, Subsection (3) of the Ancient Monuments Preservation Act, 1904. Along with this, it is included in the list of centrally protected monuments on the website of ASI (Moradabad Division).
