Prayagraj. The Allahabad High Court, considering the argument of the Hindu side, has called Sambhal’s royal Jama Masjid a ‘disputed structure’. The Allahabad High Court has called Jama Masjid of Sambhal for the first time as a disputed structure. Earlier, the Allahabad High Court, in its previous order, considered the argument of the Advocate General of UP, called Sambhal’s royal Jama Masjid as ‘disputed mosque’. The Allahabad High Court on Monday ordered that the ASI file a new affidavit and explain whether the outer part of the disputed structure of Sambhal is needed and additional decorations and lights are needed. The case is to be heard tomorrow i.e. March 12.
The Hindu side claims that the Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal was built in the year 1526–1527 during the Mughal Emperor Babur. According to the Hindu side, it is recorded in Babarnama and Akbarnama that Shahi Jama Masjid was built in Sambhal by dropping the ancient temple. The Hindu side claims that there was a temple of Kalki avatar of Lord Vishnu in Sambhal where there is royal Jama Masjid. The Hindu side also says that it has been said in ancient texts that Kalki will be incarnated in Sambhal itself. In such a situation, the Hindu side is claiming the place of the royal Jama Masjid. At the same time, the Muslim side is misunderstanding the claim that the royal Jama Masjid of Sambhal was built by demolishing a temple. Sambhal’s royal Jama Masjid has also been surveyed on the order of the first local court, but now the matter is in the Allahabad High Court.
The first survey of Sambhal’s royal Jama Masjid was done on 19 November 2024. Then on 24 November 2024, the survey of Sambhal’s mosque was conducted. At the same time, a crowd of miscreants gathered outside the Jama Masjid and committed fierce violence. The police were fired and fired along with stone pelting. Firing of miscreants also killed 4 people. In the case of violence, Sambhal police arrested 50 accused, including 3 women and sent them to jail. After this, police posts are being built in Sambhal. A new police post has also been built in front of Shahi Jama Masjid.
