Assembly elections are to be held in Maharashtra in November and before that, there seems to be a tussle in the Mahavikas Aghadi comprising opposition Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena faction and Sharad Pawar’s NCP faction. Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena-UBT Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has raised questions on Congress leaders. Sanjay Raut said that the Congress party is very busy these days. Congress leaders are so busy that they are not able to give time even for 10 days.

In fact, several rounds of talks have been held between Congress, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar’s NCP on the issue of seat sharing for the Maharashtra assembly elections, but no result has come out so far. Congress, which performed better in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha elections, wants to contest on more seats. At the same time, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena is of the opinion that seats should be distributed keeping in mind the winning position. Another problem that the Mahavikas Aghadi is facing in Maharashtra is that there has been a big split in Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar’s NCP. Uddhav Thackeray had contested the 2019 elections in alliance with the BJP. Then he had a rift with the BJP over the issue of coming to power. As a result, leaving his decades-old ally, Uddhav Thackeray joined hands with the Congress and NCP to gain power in Maharashtra, but then the Shiv Sena broke up due to the rebellion of 39 MLAs including Eknath Shinde. At the same time, Ajit Pawar rebelled against uncle Sharad Pawar and broke the NCP and shared power. Now there are Maharashtra Assembly elections and due to the rebellion of Shinde and Ajit, it is a problem for Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar to defeat their rebel factions. At the same time, the Congress, which performed well in the Lok Sabha elections, also does not want to give up its claim on many seats.
