New Delhi. Pollution increases in Delhi and surrounding areas every year. Because of this, all kinds of restrictions are imposed under Grap. Construction work is also stopped in grap restrictions. Now the Supreme Court has asked the governments of UP, Haryana and Rajasthan that the workers of the respective projects should be compensated if the construction is closed during grap sanctions. Justice Abhay S. A bench of Oka and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan also said that this compensation should be given to the workers even if there is no order from the court. The Supreme Court bench said that the amount of funds that the states collect through the labor cess should be compensated to the workers for the construction of the construction during the grap sanctions.

The Supreme Court said that its decision will apply to all the states of NCR. The Haryana government told the court that it compensated 268759 and 224881 laborers during the first and second phase of Grape. Apart from this, Haryana is preparing to give compensation to 95000 laborers in connection with the grape restrictions implemented in January. At the same time, the Delhi government counsel told the court that it had given compensation by verification to 93272 laborers. The rest of the verification continues. Whereas, the government of Rajasthan told the Supreme Court that it had given compensation to 3197 employees who have suffered losses due to grape sanctions. The UP government said that it has compensated more than 9 lakh laborers.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had pulled the Delhi government for not giving compensation to the workers associated with construction. The Supreme Court had asked the Delhi government to start registration of compensation of the workers by immediately meeting with the union of the workers. Apart from the administration of Bharatpur and Alwar in Rajasthan, the Supreme Court had given the same instructions to the administration of 8 districts of UP and 14 districts of Haryana. On 2 December 2024, the Supreme Court also asked the Chief Secretary of all the states coming to the NCR through video conferencing. Now the court has made it clear that the workers of the construction site closed in any case should be given compensation in order to implement the ban of grap.
