New Delhi: CBI has arrested Uday Kumar, senior GM of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, for taking a bribe of Rs 2.5 lakh from a Mumbai -based KEC International official. The bribe was allegedly being given in lieu of passing the agreement with KEC International and Power Grid Corporation and the bill related to it. DGM Suman Singh of KEC International Company has also been arrested by the CBI.
KEC International also made accused
Officials said that five persons and KEC International Company have been named accused in the FIR. KEC International Vice President and North India chief Jabraj Singh is among the accused named in the FIR. No immediate response could be received from the company.
CBI registered a case on March 19
The CBI had registered a case against 06 accused on March 19, including a senior general manager of Mumbai -based private company KEC International Limited, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited posted at Ajmer, four representatives of KEC International Limited Company and unknown others. It is alleged that the accused officers of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited were helping the accused of KEC International Limited to help in providing unfair benefits in passing the bills by taking bribe.
Caught red handed taking bribe
After receiving such a complaint, the CBI started laying a trap. As soon as the bribe began to be transacted, the CBI team caught red handed taking bribe to the senior general manager of the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited.

The residential and official complexes of the accused are being searched by the CBI in Sikar, Jaipur and Mohali. Several objectionable documents and digital devices have been recovered during the search. The investigation of the case is currently under investigation.
