New Delhi. Another case of rape of a minor Dalit girl has come to light in Ayodhya, in which the accused is a youth from another community. The police took swift action and arrested the main accused Shahban after an encounter. During the encounter, Shahban was shot in the leg, after which he was admitted to the district hospital in an injured condition.
The incident happened 20 days ago
The case is 20 days old when a minor Dalit girl was raped by a youth named Shahban from the same village in Khandasa police station area. At the time of the incident, one of Shahban’s companions was also present there. After the incident, the accused fled, but the series of threats to the victim’s family continued. On September 2, Shahban again reached the victim’s house with his companions and threatened them.

Late Thursday night, during a checking operation, the police tried to stop two bike riders. One of them was Shahban, who opened fire on the police. In the retaliatory action of the police, Shahban was shot in the leg, while his other companion fled taking advantage of the darkness.
SP Rural Atul Sonkar informed that an FIR has been registered against accused Shahban under SC-ST Act, rape, POCSO Act and threat. During the search, an illegal pistol, an empty cartridge and a live cartridge were recovered from Shahban. Police have also seized Shahban’s bike without number plate.
Earlier also a case of rape had come up in Ayodhya
This is not the first time that a case of rape of a Dalit girl has come up in Ayodhya. Earlier, SP leader Moeed Khan’s name had also come up in a rape case of a Dalit girl. Currently, Moeed Khan is in jail and the administration had also run a bulldozer on his illegal construction.
