New Delhi: Congress MP Kumari Selja has said in an interview amid reports of resentment that in case the party wins the elections in Haryana, the decision of the Chief Minister will be taken by the high command. Meanwhile, reacting to Shailaja’s statement, Congress MP Deependra Hooda said that this is the party’s process and there is nothing wrong in it. Let us tell you that there are reports of factionalism in Haryana Congress and Shailja and Hooda are considered leaders of two opposite groups.
‘The high command will not ignore Shailaja’
In an interview with news agency ANI, on the question of the CM face of the party in Haryana, Kumari Shailja said, ‘Only the high command has to answer this and only they will have to decide. I think Shailaja would be one of those under consideration. The high command will look at seniority, work and all these things, so the high command will not ignore Shailja in this. My commitment to the party has never been questioned, this is something they know and have full confidence in.
Deependra Hooda reacted to Shailaja’s statement
On Kumari Selja’s statement that ‘the party high command will decide on the CM candidate’, Congress MP Deepender Hooda said, ‘This is the process of the Congress. There is nothing wrong in this. First, once the results come, Congress government is formed and then the decision is taken by the high command. While speaking on this issue, Congress leader Danish Ali said, ‘The people of Haryana have decided. Congress is sweeping. A government with more than three-fourth majority of Congress is going to be formed in Haryana.
‘Congress is in a very good position in Haryana’
In the interview, about former Haryana Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupendra Hooda, Shailaja said, ‘The media does not see anyone greater than those who remain Chief Minister for 10 years. Till 2005, when Bhajanlal was there, he was still there. Apart from him you could not see anyone else, because he had been the Chief Minister. But times have changed. She said that she had met Rahul Gandhi on Thursday to discuss the elections and there was nothing to campaign about. He said that Congress is in a very good position in Haryana and everyone has worked hard for it. (ANI)
