Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshajanand Tirth On Temples: 'To prevent incidents like Tirumala laddu prasadam, a board should take over the administration of temples instead of the government', Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshajanand Tirth demands separate board for temples after Tirumala laddu prasadam row

Mathura. Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshajanand Dev Tirtha of Govardhan Peeth has demanded that the administration of temples should be in the hands of a board instead of being in the hands of the government. Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshajanand Dev Tirtha has made this demand after coming to Mathura after doing Chaturmas in Guwahati, Assam. On the news of the use of ghee containing animal fat in the laddu prasadam of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala, Shankaracharya said that this is a direct attack on the religious sentiments of the people. He said that to prevent such incidents, the administration of temples should be given to a board.

Now, after the allegations of using ghee containing fat and fish oil in the laddu prasadam, former Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy is going to visit the temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala. Jaganmohan Reddy has said that he will go to the Venkateswara temple on September 28 and worship there. Jaganmohan Reddy has also said that to wash away the sins committed by CM Chandrababu Naidu, his party YSRCP will perform rituals across Andhra Pradesh on September 28. Actually, the issue of adulteration in Tirumala’s laddu prasadam has taken a political color in Andhra Pradesh. Chandrababu Naidu had alleged that during Jaganmohan Reddy’s tenure, ghee containing animal fat was used in Tirumala’s laddu prasadam.

Saints are also constantly raising their voice on this issue. At the same time, the central government has said that the ghee used in Laddu Prasadam will be tested once again. An FIR has also been filed against the company that supplies ghee to Lord Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala. At the same time, now the Chandrababu Naidu government has decided that Nandini ghee from Karnataka will be used again in Laddu Prasadam.
