The mosque committee says that we have taken this decision to maintain mutual love and harmony, if we get permission, we will remove the illegal construction ourselves.

Let us tell you that the case of Sanjauli Mosque in Shimla is pending in the court. Hindu organizations are continuously protesting demanding the demolition of illegal construction in the mosque. Shimla Vyapar Mandal has also announced a bandh today in support of the demand to demolish the illegal construction in the mosque. Due to which the markets in Shimla are completely closed today. Earlier yesterday, i.e. on Wednesday, the police had lathicharged to disperse the people of the Hinduist organization who were protesting. The matter of illegal construction in Sanjauli Mosque has also been raised in the assembly by the state Congress government minister Anirudh Singh.
Speaking on this matter, Anirudh Singh had said in the state assembly that this is not a matter related to the mosque or religion, it is a matter related to illegal construction. He had requested the government to demolish the illegal construction in the mosque. Let us tell you that the local people allege that earlier the mosque was a mud mosque and was a two-storey building. But within no time, five floors were illegally constructed in the mosque without the permission of the administration. In the last few years, many outsiders have come and settled in the area around the mosque.
