Shivraj Singh Chauhan arrived to attend a meeting of BRICS Agriculture Ministers in Brazil.
Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan will participate in the 15th meeting of BRICS Agriculture Ministers to be held in Brasilia, Brazil on 17 April. He is leading the Indian delegation. Shivraj will hold bilateral meetings with Brazil’s Agriculture and Livestock Minister Carlos Henriqu Bqueta Fawaro, Agriculture Development and Family Agriculture Minister Louiz Paulo Texera. The theme of this 15th BRICS Agricultural Ministerial meeting is to promote inclusive and sustainable agriculture through cooperation, innovation and justified trade between BRICS countries. ” The meeting is expected to participate in the meeting of agricultural ministers and senior officials from BRICS member countries including BRICS member countries including Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia, Indonesia and Iran.
Meeting will be focused on increasing cooperation in these areas
Chauhan will hold a meeting with Brazil’s Agriculture and Livestock Minister Carlos Henriques Baiketa Favaro and Agriculture Development and Family Farming Minister Louiz Paulo Texra during his visit. These meetings will be focused on increasing cooperation between India and Brazil in various fields of agriculture, agricultural technology, rural development and food security.
Will participate in plantation campaign under ‘Pahal, a tree mother’s name’
Union Minister Shivraj will hold talks with the heads of Brazilian agricultural business companies and representatives of the Brazilian Vegetable Oil Industry Association in Sau Paulo. He will seek participation and investment opportunities in the agricultural price chain. He will also participate in a tree plantation campaign at the Indian Embassy in Brasilia under the ‘Name of a tree mother’ with the aim of raising awareness in relation to environmental protection and honoring maternity.
Will talk with Indian migrants
In addition, he will interact with Indian migrants at Sao Paulo and recognize his role as cultural ambassadors and contributors in bilateral relations. The journey is in line with India’s commitment to strengthen cooperation with BRICS countries and to carry forward agricultural innovation and south-south cooperation.

Earlier, on reaching Brazil, Shivraj Singh shared pictures on social media and informed about his journey. He wrote on X, “I have come to attend a meeting of BRICS Agriculture Ministers in Brazil. During this time, there was a communication with members of Brazil’s agricultural trade community in Sao Paulo today. There has been a meaningful discussion on important topics such as agricultural trade, food processing, biofuel, bio -organism, integration of technological innovation and supply chain. I am confident that the mutual cooperation and joint efforts of the two countries will not only strengthen and prosper our farmers, but will also give a new direction to global food security. ‘
In another X post, he wrote, “There is an opportunity to be rich in many experiences and techniques during his stay in Brazil. After coming here, I am watching farming and learning many new things. In Brazil, the system of irrigation was seen in the tomato field. More irrigation has been arranged here in less water. All this system is controlled, so that the plant is given as much water. ”
