Bengaluru. Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah appeared before the Lokayukta police for questioning in the alleged land scam of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). Siddaramaiah was summoned by Karnataka’s Lokayukta police on Wednesday in the Muda land scam. Initially it seemed that Siddaramaiah could oppose the summons for questioning by filing an application in the High Court in this case, but instead of taking this route, Siddaramaiah appeared for questioning. Siddaramaiah has already received a setback from the Karnataka High Court in the Muda land scam case. Siddaramaiah had filed a petition to quash the case registered against him. This application of Siddaramaiah was rejected by the Karnataka High Court. ED is also investigating money laundering in this case.

Apart from Siddaramaiah, those who complained about the alleged land scam of Muda have also named his wife Parvati Siddaramaiah and son as accused. Apart from this, a complaint was also made against the President of Muda. The Governor of Karnataka had approved legal action on this complaint. Whereas, Siddaramaiah had held a cabinet meeting and passed a resolution against legal action. This case pertains to 14 plots received by Parvati Siddaramaiah in Mysuru. It has been said in the complaint that Muda had taken some plots of Parvati Siddaramaiah and then gave him 14 expensive pieces of land in return. Muda had earlier run this scheme, but in 2020, the then BJP government of Karnataka had ended the scheme of giving plots in exchange for Muda land.

It has been said in the complaint that after the end of the scheme, the plots were given to Parvati Siddaramaiah. After the Governor gave the green signal to take legal action on the complaint in this matter, Parvati Siddaramaiah wrote a letter to Muda asking him to return all the plots. Opposition BJP and JDS have surrounded Siddaramaiah in this matter. BJP has demanded a CBI investigation into the alleged land scam case of Muda. A petition demanding a CBI investigation is also being heard in the Karnataka High Court. The court has sought a reply from the Siddaramaiah government in this matter. At the same time, Siddaramaiah has been continuously saying that he has not done any wrong. At the same time, BJP and JDS say that if Muda land scam did not happen, then why did Parvati Siddaramaiah write a letter to return the plot given to her.
