Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvati Siddaramaiah and his son are also named in the alleged Muda land scam case. It has been complained that the Karnataka exchequer suffered a loss of Rs 45 crore through the Muda scam. The complaint said that 3 acres and 16 guntas of Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvati’s land was acquired by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). In return for this, Parvati Siddaramaiah was given 14 plots in an expensive area. Actually, earlier Muda had started this scheme on land acquisition for urban development. Those whose land was acquired under the scheme would be given developed land. MUDA started the scheme in the year 2009. Which was closed by the BJP government in 2020.
It has been said in the complaint that despite the BJP government of Karnataka stopping the scheme of giving developed land, the lands of Parvati Siddaramaiah were acquired and developed land was allotted to her. The complaint states that Parvati Siddaramaiah was gifted land in Kesare, an area outside Mysuru, by her brother Mallikarjuna Swamy in 2010. In lieu of these lands, Muda gave 14 plots to Parvati Siddaramaiah in Vijayanagara 3rd and 4th phase. After this issue heated up, Parvati Siddaramaiah wrote a letter to Muda and offered to return all the plots. She said that she valued her husband’s respect more than the price of the Muda plot. BJP had also targeted this and said that when Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah is embroiled in scam, his family is now doing this work. At the same time, Siddaramaiah has been continuously saying that he has not done any wrong.
