After the long gap in Kashmir after the June Pahalgam terror attack, tourism has started becoming normal. However, the number of tourists reaching the valley is less.
Groups of tourists, especially from states like Maharashtra and Gujarat, are reaching the popular tourism resort of Gulmarg and Pahalgam, which has raised the hope of gradually normalizing the situation in the region.
However, the number of tourists is limited, but some activities have started in the region which was almost completely closed after the attack on April 22 at Basaron Maidan in Pahalgam. 25 tourists and a local person were killed in this attack.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is leading by moving forward and actively involved in efforts to restore confidence in tourists in the valley.
The Chief Minister is visiting popular tourist places, taking his administration there, talking to stakeholders and also interacting with tourists.
To eliminate the atmosphere of fear in the valley, Abdullah had held meetings one after the other in the Council of Ministers in Pahalgam and senior officials in Gulmarg.
A large number of people started canceling booking due to Pahalgam attack. After the attack, tourists left the valley and people’s interest in visiting Kashmir decreased.
But now the clouds of fear are starting to proclaim and gradually the number of people who are getting information about the booking.
Businessman Asif Burja, who operates the hotel in Srinagar, Pahalgam and Gulmarg, said, “People have started coming back.” Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s meetings and trips (Pahalgam and Gulmarg) have given a positive message that the tourist places are open. This has improved tourism. ”
Afsa Malik, a tourist from Gandhinagar in Gujarat, said that he would not feel any fear in Kashmir and appealed to the people across the country to come to the valley.
He told ‘PTI’, “We have come to Kashmir for the first time. There is no atmosphere of fear, security. Security forces are deployed everywhere. Everyone should come here. ”
