New Delhi. The special intensive revision campaign (SIR) of the voter list continues in Bihar. Tomorrow is the last day of the voter list verification i.e. 25 July and the revised draft list will be published on 1 August. Earlier, the Election Commission has given great relief to the voters. The Election Commission has given 30 days to add names to the voter list. In the guideline issued by the Chief Electoral Officer, it is said that the electoral or recognized political parties can add any eligible voter to be added to the voter list from 1 August to 1 September.
The Election Commission says that if any voter has been missed in the calculation of BLO or BLA, then its name is being given additional time to get added to the voter list. Similarly, if someone’s name has been added to the error list, then his name can also be removed. A special intensive revision campaign (SIR) of the voter list is being run before the assembly elections in Bihar. Its purpose is to update the voter list and remove the names of such people from the voter list who are ineligible. For example, if someone has died or if no one remains in that place, then the name of such people is being removed from the voter list so that only those people who are real voters can vote.
According to the information that has come out during the SIR, 18 lakh people involved in the voting list have died. At the same time, more than 52 lakh people were not found at the address which is recorded in the Election Commission. However, Bihar’s opposition parties are opposing the special intensive revision of the voter list. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has even spoken about the boycott of the election.
