The conference of Higher Education Ministers participating in six non-BJP ruled states in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, demanded immediate withdrawal of these rules from the Central Government citing various “flaws” in the UGC draft rules.

After the conference, Karnataka Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar told reporters that it was unanimously decided in the meeting that the University Grants Commission (UGC) should be involved in a cooperative counseling process with all states while making these rules.

Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister Chezian said that the draft allows students to get a certificate after one year, diploma after two years and after three years, allowing them to enroll as per their wish and leave the course, which is the origin of education Is derogatory in terms of consideration.
He said, “Education is not a market for you that when you come in will and when you wish.”
Chezian said that he has identified 15 major points, including the important point that the state governments should be given an important role in the appointment of the Vice Chancellor, on which the draft needs to be reconsidered before it is passed.
