New Delhi. This year the Meteorological Department had predicted severe heat and above average rainfall. Both these predictions of the weather department turned out to be accurate. The Meteorological Department has now predicted severe winter and its prediction may also prove to be correct. The Meteorological Department had said that western disturbances may become active after the rainy season ends. Due to western disturbance, there may be heavy snowfall in the hilly areas and due to this, people will have to face severe cold from the mountains to the plains. In such a situation, it is better that you start removing warm clothes to avoid cold.

This prediction of the weather department of severe cold may be correct. There is news of snowfall in the high altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir including Gulmarg and Sonamarg. Apart from this, there has also been light rain in the plains. Due to this, the temperature has fallen at many places in Jammu and Kashmir. The Meteorological Department has predicted that there may be light rain at many places in the Kashmir area in the next 48 hours. Along with this, there are chances of more snow falling in the higher areas. The more snow falls in the hilly areas, the more the cold will increase in the plains. Western disturbance is also likely to become active in Jammu and Kashmir in one to two days. Due to western disturbances, snowfall and rain are seen in the hilly areas from October to February.
Due to reduction in pollution after the end of the rainy season, people are still facing humidity in the plains, but in the coming one to two weeks the temperature is likely to fall in the plains also. Due to the effect of La Nina, shivering winter may start from November this year. There is also a possibility of fog and this will lead to freezing cold. People had to face severe cold from December last year i.e. 2023 to March this year.
