Actually, stones were pelted in the AC chaircar coach of train number 22435 Vande Bharat Express going from Varanasi to Delhi near Panki station of Kanpur. In this incident, a glass of the coach of Vande Bharat train was broken. After this incident of stone pelting, there was panic among the passengers of the coach. This incident was informed to the control room by the driver of Vande Bharat train. After this, RPF Panki has registered a case against unknown stone pelters and is investigating the matter.
Stone pelting again on Vande Bharat train
Joint teams of GRP, RPF have patrolled from Panki to Bhaupur. According to the information received from the Railways, stones have been pelted on the 20-coach Vande Bharat train running from Delhi to Varanasi. On Wednesday, Vande Bharat left Kanpur Central a little behind schedule. The train was entering the outer signal of Panki station at 7.05 pm. During the same time, stones were pelted at C-7 coach. When a stone hit the glass of C-7 coach, the glass broke. This created panic among the passengers of the coach. Many passengers hid under the seats due to fear of stones.
Stone pelting has happened before too
Let us tell you that at this same location in Kanpur, stones have been pelted at Vande Bharat train more than 7 times in the last one year. Incidents of stone pelting have been seen between Panki to Bhaupur stations on Delhi route and Chakeri to Prempur stations on Howrah route. At this location, stone pelters have targeted the Vande Bharat Express train the most. On the other hand, a train accident was also seen on the Delhi-Mumbai route near Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh.
