Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has said that India will not sit silent in fear of terrorism. He gave this statement while leaving for America. His visit is part of India’s efforts in which efforts are being made to gather global support against Pakistan sponsored terrorism.
After ‘Operation Sindoor’, the central government has formed seven different international delegations involving MPs of all major political parties. These delegations are led by Shashi Tharoor, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Baijayant Panda, Kanimozhi, Supriya Sule, Sanjay Kumar Jha and Srikanth Shinde. Their purpose is to make the friendly countries aware of India’s action and situation.
However, the Congress has expressed displeasure over this process. The party says that the government sidelined the names suggested by him and Tharoor was elected without the consent of the party. The Congress has called it “political ignorance”.
Describing it as a national duty, Shashi Tharoor said that this time is to forget political differences and unite and convey a message to the world that India is serious about terrorism and will no longer tolerate it.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also recently said that India will no longer be afraid of nuclear threats nor will compromise on terrorism. This new strategy reflects India’s changed policy.
