Earlier, during the hearing of the case, the Supreme Court reprimanded the Delhi government for not giving compensation to the workers. Delhi government informed the court that subsistence allowance of Rs 2,000 has been paid to 90 thousand construction workers. Expressing displeasure on this, the court said that the workers should have been given Rs 8,000. The Supreme Court asked when will you pay the remaining amount, do you want the workers to die of hunger? During this, the Chief Secretaries of UP, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan governments appeared in the court through video conferencing.
The court had ordered him to be present during the last hearing. Let us tell you that after air pollution reached dangerous levels in Delhi, the Supreme Court had imposed GRAP 4 restrictions. Along with this, instructions were given to close all the schools of Delhi NCR and run online classes. Although a few days later, schools were ordered to run in hybrid mode, no other relaxation was given in GRAP 4 restrictions. The Supreme Court had also reprimanded the Punjab government for burning stubble.
